wwwa››Chevy Malibu 90-04 Car Radio Wire Harness2002 malibu wiring diagram?!?!?!?!?!?! i tied the yellow and red wire together on the aftermarket cd player and hit - Corvette Chevy Malibu 90-04 Car Radio question Help I'm trying to wire my 2002 Chevy Malibu 1998 Ford Expedition Stereo WiringOk, the red and yellow wires serve 2 different purposes yellow supplies constant power to your stereo, and the red is switched power. what youve done is combine the two, and connect them to a constant power source. like this, your stereo wont be switched with your ignition. so take off the red wire, but leave the yellow wire connected to the wire its already on. make sure your stereo fuse is good in the fusebox of the car. then, use a test light, with the ignition switch on, to find the second wire on your cars harness that has power. that will be your switched power. connect that one to your red wire, and that will solve your problem.Best answer · 4Hi there,

THANKS!1Thats all wrong listen.. you cut the wires on the factory stereo youll have to find an alternate wire for the accessory from behind the ignition bc the stock radios data but tells it to turn off when you turn the key to off so there is no accessory wire from the cars radio wiring harness. connect your accessory wire to the thick BROWN wire coming directly from the back of your ignition pointing down with a bunch of other colored wires to the left inside the stereo bay...i have done this and it works. cover it with electrical tape1Iv got a 02Malibu and it has a Orange hott but the yellow wire is a speaker not a switched power and I have no dash lights at night can someone please help0I am having the same problem, Im trying to hook up my cd player and i cant get it to work. I followed the wire color code kind of like the one in the link above. The Cd player lets me take in cds, but the screen doesnt light up and no sound comes out.0The yellow should be to live power it keeps your clock and memory. red should be on a switch power on only when key is on. check and make sure everything works right before mounting down the stereo. Dont worry about the alarm till you know you have a problem with it, you might be worrying for nothing.0
