A mechanic - Answered by a verified Chevy MechanicWas it running fine before the line was replaced? Has the injection pump pressure been checked to see if the pressures can achieve up to 23,000 psi? If that pressure can't be achieved suspect a faulty injection pump.Yes, the fuel pressure regulators have been known to go bad on these trucks. You would need a scan tool to ramp up the pressure and see if the pump and regulator are able to achieve and maintain that pressure. If not the next logical step is to replace the regulator. If that doesn't fix the problem a pump is next in line. I personally have never had good luck replacing just the regulator as it usally turns out to be a pump. Any air in the system should bleed out on its' own once the truck is started and running. You are very welcome and thanks for using JustAnswer.
