It cleared abs fault code but now I have code P0503- speed sensor "a" circuit intermittent, along with P1775 for that right rear sensor. Did I loosen something along the replace. The fitment seems good although some of the plastic snaps on old circuit connector did break.
How to Test an Automotive ABS Wheel Speed Sensor
Aug 09, 2021How to Test an ABS Wheel Speed Sensor All anti-lock equipped vehicles are designed with a wheel speed sensors (WSS), one at each wheel. A stator ring is then used with the sensor which attaches to the brake rotor, CV joint, rear axle or bearing hub.
How To Test ABS Sensor? Here's How To Do It Right! (2017
Jun 24, 2017Once you’ve gone through all the steps (changed ABS sensor and wheel hub) and still there is a code for one of the sensors, the only other thing possible is an open circuit anywhere in the wiring that could be found by a pin to pin check that test the wiring.
C0040 Code: Right Front Wheel Speed Circuit Malfunction
Sep 02, 2021The ABS code C0040 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that warns of a potential malfunction in one of the wheel speed sensors or the sensor’s circuit. What Does the C0040 Code Mean? The C044 code stands for “Right Front Wheel Speed Circuit Malfunction.”
P0500 – Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) -circuit malfunction
Nov 18, 2015Check the circuit; If the VSS checks out OK, but you still have P0500 code illuminated, you’ll need to check the sensor circuit. Reed switch sensor: A reed switch VSS circuit is pretty simple. The sensor will have two wires going to it: power and the return signal to the PCM. Consult the repair manual for your vehicle to determine which wire

If all looks good, it is still possible for an ABS sensor to fail internally. With an ABS sensor disconnected you can probe the terminals with a multimeter, eliminating the need to remove the sensor from the vehicle. Both passive (2-wire) and active (2 or 3-wire) ABS sensors can be tested for basic functionality with a multimeter.
