BMW TIMING BELT OR CHAIN
All BMW employ Timing Chain which should out last almost all engine components,ie. T-stat,water pump,alternator,etc. Timing Chain usually lasts the lifetime of the engine! The Accessory Belt,on the other hand,should be replaced every 50k miles,or when the above mentioned accessories fail.
