BROAN EXHAUST FAN AND LIGHT COMBO WIRING DIAGRAM
Wiring up a Broan Ceiling fan/heater/light combo. Model 655.
Wiring up a Broan Ceiling fan/heater/light combo. Model 655. I have all the wires ran as the diagram shows. A 12/2 and a 12/3 both going from the unit to the switch, with power coming into the switch from the panel like the diagram shows. So you have blue, red, black, 3 whites and green coming out of the fan. Here is what you need to do. We do not need 12/3 wire. We only need 12/2 from switch to unit. However I would keep 12/3 just in case if in the future you want to have separate switches for each options, just cap off all ends at both locations. In the unit splice all whites and white of 12/2 together. Splice red, black, blue from fan and black of 12/2 together. Splice bare and green to each other. In the switch: splice white feed and white of 12/2 to each other and cap off with wire nut. Connect black feed to one brass screw on the switch and black of 12/2 going to the unit on another brass screw. Splice bares together and add bare pig tail to the splice. The other end off bare pig tail connect to the green screw. Do not forget to cap off wires of 12/3. That should make all 3 work with one switch. Let me know how it goes.Hello. When you say 3 way, do you mean combination of 3 switches in one? Do you want to have one switch for each option?I'm sorry for asking same question again. I just want to make sure I got it correct. Option 1 : when you flip one switch all 3 ( fan/ heater/ light )come on same time. Option 2: one switch works light, another switch works fan and last switch works heater. Which option do you want?Thank You for clarification. Do you have regular single pole switch ( maybe that is what you call 2 way) which has 2 brass and one green screws? Please tell me how many and what color wires you have coming out of the fan/heater/light unit? Please confirm that in the switch box you have 3 sets of wires, Set #1 12/2 feed ( black, white bare ) Set #2 12/2 going from switch to unit. Set #3 12/3 (black, red, white ) going from switch to unit. Thank YouI'm not by the computer right now. I'm working off of the blackberry and having a hard time downloading that diagram. If you can just tell me the colors and amount of the wires coming from unit I will tell you exactly how to wire it. Sorry for inconvenience. How did it go?No problem. I will get back online tomorrow morning. Just let me know if you need more help and I will respond tomorrow.I'm glad I was able to help. If my help was at your satisfactory level please do not forget to hit accept so I can get paid.
