There are fuse boxs out there. It does not hap to be off a Cougar. There are aftermaket parts for the car. It is no do it your self job. A machanic may beable to put new contacts on the end of the wires. I know a automative wiring shop can do it. A fuse that wrigggle in the holder does not means it is bad fuse box and cannot be fixed in the shop. It only means that wire got hot and the fuse did not blow like it should had. and it melted the box around it. That usually means the wrong fuse and another problem that was not taken care of like it should had been. Like the brake light was staying on. That is a brake light switch.Best answer · 0YES. you can bypass the fuse box.. buy an in-line fuse holder from the local auto shop & put that in between the wires you take off the fuse block.. that way the cct is still protected & the wires wont melt & set fire to the car if there is a fault..0yes but its either that or go buy a generec fuse box and make a new fuse block and keep track of what goes where. I had a friend that was good at wiring and he had bought aftermarket fuse block rewired my turn signals and brake lights on a seperate box and screwed it to the firewall. you can add the line easily useing aligator clips to see if it will work and then go back and solder it in as needed.0I would hink so as long as you install the inline fuse probably be better if you pulled the fuse box and just push the terminals out through the backside of the box then you will be able to connect the inline fuse correctly and that way you will know that it is right, also make sure that you disconnect the hot cable on the battery.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,0
