I think the hand set will work fine. (With plain old telephone system.) Your ringer box still has the mag which was usually removed when they were converted to a dial system. I have seen ringer boxes that had a paper inside saying when and name of serviceman who did the conversion. Seems like there was a hand drawn wiring diagram inside one I had.
