Champion Stoves Operation: 1. Curing the stove. The stove is made up of a number of cast iron components and we recommend that the first 4 burns should be a small fire for up to 30 minutes. This enables the stresses and strains at the joints to be taken up and settle gradually. After this the next 3 burns should be a larger fire for 1 hour.
