How often should I change a 2007 Honda Civic's
answerso››Car Makes›Honda›NextJan 08, 2011How often should I change a 2007 Honda Civic's transmission fluid? I couldn't find the mileage figure in the owner's manual and Honda's site is WORTHLESS for anything besides buying a new car. surpriseStatus: ResolvedAnswers: 9Automatics I recommend every year.
Manuals I recommend at least once a year but an extra year won't hurt.
Honda's automatic transmissions are very sensitive so extra care is needed for them, especially if you want it to last the lifetime of the car.Best answer · 0Just because it's a Honda doesn't mean proper maintenance shouldn't be done. Sure, transmission fluid can last up to 90,000 miles but that's under "normal" conditions. If you do a lot of city driving, short trips and such or live in more extreme warm or cold conditions it is recommended you change the fluid more often. If you never changed the fluid my suggestion is to do it now. It should cost between $100 and $150 for a good flush of the system. Same goes for the radiator fluid but should be changed even more so. If it's the regular green fluid (in which I think Civics use) the most I would go would be 2 years or 30,000 miles. A flush should cost around $80 to $100. Honda's are good cars, but not that good to skip maintenance. If I were you I would try to get both done more sooner then later.02007 Honda Civic Transmission0This Site Might Help You.
How often should I change a 2007 Honda Civic's transmission fluid?
I couldn't find the mileage figure in the owner's manual and Honda's site is WORTHLESS for anything besides buying a new car. surprise0if you have an internal filter, like many other hondas/ acuras, it's best to do it at least annually, or every 2 years/ 30,000 if you want to keep your transmission healthy..
I went to other honda and acura sites & it's not that hard to drain the old fluid, and refill with HONDA ATF fluid through the dipstick hole..
i practiced this on a 1995 honda accord and will do the same on a 2005 acura mdx;both have internal filters/screens only1every 30,000 miles if its an automatic and if its shifting hard change it now. Honda's have internal
filters which cannot be changed and there are no belt adjustments. regular changes will ensure the filter doesn't get clogged up. Only use Honda fluid0Automatic-every 30k like they said. Hondas manual says every 110,000 or soemthing but that is silly. Generally you need to drain n refill. Remember youre only getting like 50% of the fluid so that is why you need to do it so often. MANUAL-every year or so Id say. I prefer amsoil. With the automatic you MUST use honda atf-z1 only or now they have a synthetic.0it all depends on u if it aint broke dont fix it if ur havin problems service it if not leave it alone0once an hour0Transmission fluid change or flush for 2007 automaticMay 22, 2013Status: ResolvedDo I need to also change transmission filter in 06 hondaJun 24, 2010Status: ResolvedSee more results
