Jul 11, 2002Should the clear fuel filter be filled with gas?? Discussion in 'Lawn Mowing' started by KenH, Jul 10, My fuel filter is full on some days and empty on others, the engine runs the same in either case. therefore the dirty filter will be full because there is friction holding the gas in.
Fuel filter not full?. Also a delay starting?
Mar 07, 2012I have a clear inline fuel filter and noticed it was only half full? The cart run ok, but shouldn't it be full? I have not been able to run it much, but when you push the gas pedal, the engine rolls half over, and after about 2 seconds it fires up.

Feb 02, 2009Rebuilt the carb yesterday and replaced the filter with a clear one. Hardly any fuel in the filter so I run and replace the fuel pump. No change in the fuel level. (And it runs funny, stumbling like it's starving!) That's what I get for just throwing parts at it instead of diagnosing the real problem.

May 30, 2011There's a clear fuel filter between the tank and the motor, and it's not filling up with gas. So I'll be riding around for a while, then it'll start to sputter like it's out of gas - but it's not. The mower was fully serviced a year ago, so that's pretty new. I removed the tube on the tank side, and got gas all over my hands, so that's not clogged.
