Dual field alternator wiring | For A Bodies Only Mopar Forum
wwwbodiesonly››Electrical and IgnitionJul 27, 2009In my book it says to run the second field wire to the ignition/on wire of the new regulator, ie. the blue wire. In the book it says that you can hook up the field wires to either terminal on the alternator, which I did, but when I cranked the car over it would not start. If I unhooked the added field wire the car would start but not charge.HELP How to tell difference between single + dual fieldApr 02, 2016Dual Field Alternator no charge | For A Bodies Only MoparNov 06, 2015Dual field alternator in single field vehicle | For AAug 17, 2015Help with alternator wiring issue | For A Bodies OnlyJun 21, 2011See more results
Single vs Dual Field Alternator... - Sweptline
wwwtline››*ELECTRICAL/GAUGES/LIGHTING HELP*Aug 28, 2009While there is no orange wire at the alternator, there is one at the ballast. I had over looked it, because it was behind a splice in the red wire, where 2 more wires had been spliced in. The alternator is a duel field, and I was under the impression that it had been added later. The second field wire is spliced in a different color.
