Classical electromagnetism - Wikipedia
Classical electromagnetism or classical electrodynamics is a branch of theoretical physics that studies the interactions between electric charges and currents using an extension of the classical Newtonian model theory provides a description of electromagnetic phenomena whenever the relevant length scales and field strengths are large enough that quantum mechanical effects are negligible.
Classical field theory - Wikipedia
A classical field theory is a physical theory that predicts how one or more physical fields interact with matter through field equations. The term 'classical field theory' is commonly reserved for describing those physical theories that describe electromagnetism and gravitation, two of the fundamental forces of nature.

May 22, 2019On the subject of Classical fields, I have not read a better book than Barut's. It is clear and comprehensive. I discovered more about things like the Lorentz group and the Lagrangian formalism of fields than I thought existed. It is an excellent book by all standards. If you need to learn Quantum Field theory, start here first.4.3/5(8)Format: KindleAuthor: A. O. Barut
Electrodynamics and Classical Theory of Fields and Particles
The first comprehensive treatment of relativistic electrodynamics, this volume remains essential reading. This graduate-level text was written by a distinguished theoretical physicist. It deftly reveals the classical underpinnings of modern quantum field theory with explorations of space-time, Lorentz transformations, conservation laws, equations of motion, Green’s functions, and action
PHYS 6210: Electrodynamics and Classical Field Theory
Introduction into the theoretical concepts and mathematical methods of Classical Electrodynamics as example of a relativistic Field Theory. Focus on skill-building, symmetry principles, controlled approximations, and concepts at the fore-front of research.

Classical Electrodynamics - Physics Travel Guide
Electrodynamics was for a long time the best theory to describe the behavior of light and electrically charged objects. It describes electric and magnetic fields, and as a consequence also X-rays, and every other form of electromagnetic wave. In addition, electrodynamics explains how electrodynamics and magnetism are related.

Page v - Electrodynamics and the classical theory of fields remain very much alive and continue to be the source of inspiration for much of the modern research work in new physical theories.4/5(1)
[PDF] The Classical Theory Of Fields Download Full – PDF
The study of classical electromagnetic fields is an adventure. The theory is complete mathematically and we are able to present it as an example of classical Newtonian experimental and mathematical philosophy. There is a set of foundational experiments, on which most of the theory is constructed.
