FORD BRAKES WEARING OUT IN 14000 MILES
Is it normal for rear brakes to wear out at 33k miles on a 2015 Fusion that pretty much has been babied?
I just checked my rear rotors and they feel like a vinyl record. Dealer said it's time to replace pads and rotors soon, on my last visit, but up till then, no mention of any issues with them on previous inspections while getting my very spread apart oil changes bec i dont drive alot.
I'm kind of susreddit/r/fordfusion · Apr 12, 201933k miles is pretty low for factory pads (and rotors). The days of rear pads far outlasting the front pads are long gone - this is not some "defect" with Fusions either. The fronts and 4 votesI have a 2014 had to change the rear brakes out at about 50k miles. Usually the fronts go first, but I have read these Ford and Lincoln cars are having the rears go sooner.1 voteI call bs especially on the rotors. they can buff it out for like $50 and it looks brand new1 voteIt sounds abnormal to me. On all my previous cars the rear pads hardly ever get worn out. I have not owned my Fusion long so not sure if this is any different Are you sure you 1 voteI traded in my 2015 with 88k miles and the original brakes. I did way more highway driving than city driving for most of my time with it.1 voteI just bought a '17 Fusion Sport with 28k miles and the pads were toast. Definitely the earliest I've seen factory pads wear out but it is a pretty heavy car so whatever. I ordered 4 pairs 1 voteSee allSee all comments

33k miles is pretty low for factory pads (and rotors). The days of rear pads far outlasting the front pads are long gone - this is not some "defect" with Fusions either. The fronts and rears wear out fairly evenly but most people get 50-100k miles out of the original factory pads.

Jan 20, 2016Sounds like if the brakes last to 10,000 miles, then all is well. If they wear out sooner, they were assembled wrong. So what is the criteria for a recall? I can see Ford telling customers that it's not a recall item because brakes should be checked at every oil change, so it's up to the customer to know if the brakes are wearing out excessively.Ford Transit USA Forum - Brake wearFord Transit USA Forum - Brakes making noise with 14,000See more results
Brake Pads : How many miles do they last? - Maintenance
Jul 04, 2016Your use, and wear, is in that average range of 20,000 to 50,000 miles to brake wear-out. Mail carriers measure their time, 'til they need new brake pads, in WEEKS, not miles. Half of their driving is acceleration, and half is braking.

Rear Brake Replacement at 29,000 miles? - Ford Flex Forum
Jul 16, 2010My 2009 Ford Flex SEL has 25,402 miles and the rear brake pads are shot. The front brake pads are about 2/3 worn. In my opinion this is unacceptable. I have a Toyota 4Runner - 2002, and the brake pads last 40,000+ on that. I think Ford did not put the proper pads on this car. Too light/small for the weight of the car, thus quick wear.

Jun 10, 2006If one side pad is wearing out, like you said the outboard pad is wearing faster than the inboard, it sounds like the pad is hanging when the caliper is released. I haven't had an opportunity yet to have my rear brakes apart, not enough miles yet, but usually rear disks have a mini drum behind them, or some sort of anti - reverse method for the
Brake LIFE!!!` - Ford F150 Forum
Apr 26, 2006Speaking of brakes, my truck has about 14,000 miles on it & I just noticed that my brakes are starting to grind into the rotors, and they look pretty bad. I've been thinking of replacing my brake pads and rotors anyways for better braking and less brake dust. Anyone know a good brake kit for the 2004 F-150 with low brake dust?
