FORD TPS WIRING COLOR CODE
THROTTLE POSITION SENSORS
Ford Throttle Position Sensor Connections Ford has two different color codes for throttle position sensors and several different connectors and pin-outs. The early-style color code mostly matches the wiring of our harnesses: Black is ground and should be tapped into the black main ground wire from Vehicle pin 16, Orange is the 5 Volt reference

Circuit labeled 2: Throttle Position (TP) Signal Circuit. This wire is Black in color. Circuit labeled 3: Sensor Ground Circuit. This wire is Green in color.
P1120 FORD Throttle Position Sensor Out of Range: Code
P1120 Ford Description. The Throttle Position Sensor ( TPS) responds to the accelerator pedal movement. The TPS is a rotary potentiometer sensor that provides a signal to the Powertrain Control Module ( PCM) that is linearly proportional to the throttle plate/shaft position. As the TPS
Setting the Mustang TPS Voltage
The TPS (picture 2 "B") basically bolts to the throttle body with two screws. (picture 2 "A") The holes that the screws go through on the TPS are elongated so you can twist the TPS in either direction to adjust it. To adjust the TPS all you have to do is loosen (don't take them out) both screws and move the TPS until you see the right voltage.

Adjusting your TPS to 0 volts is NOT necessary
Apr 22, 2019The Orange/White wire is the VREF 5 volts from the computer. You use the Dark Green/Lt green wire (TPS signal) and the Black/White wire (TPS ground) to set the TPS. Use a pair of safety pins to probe the TPS connector from the rear of the connector. You may find it a little difficult to make a good connection, but keep trying.
