FORD TRAILER WIRING DIAGRAM FOR 2008
Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring - e trailer
The Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness part # 118243 is indeed a fit for a 2000 Ford F-250. It will replace the 7-way trailer connector as well as part of the trailer wiring harness from the square pigtail onward. I would not have any options to replace any part of the factory trailer wiring harness up to the square pigtail.
Trailer Running Lights Do Not Work when Connected to Ford
Your Ford F-150 might have relays related to the tow package wiring and not just fuses. Use the owners manual to find the locations of any relays (or fuses) related to the tow package wiring. The easiest way to see if a relay is bad is to use a known good one in place of a potential bad one.

Jan 22, 2014I had a 24 foot travel trailer with all of our belongings and had to put 70 lbs in tires that called for 50 lbs. only problem on trip was loss of trailer brakes due to corrosion in the main power wiring in Kentucky. all the old Ford could do to stop it w/o trailer brakes. sure hated trying to figure out what was wrong in rainy 40s weather.
