Sep 21, 2017SOURCE: John Deere Gator XUV 2008 oil in gas. I know exactly the problem. I work for a John Deere dealership and have seen this problem before. It is called short-tripping. When a machine is first started, gas does leak into the cylinder and crankcase past the rings--normal--simulates leaving the choke on too long with a carburetor engine.

Apr 12, 2011just saw this thread and was ready to reply "no fuse box and replace the battery". Sorry didn't see it when you posted. Glad it is fixed, and I have the 4x2 Gator and replaced the battery two years ago. Since '99, it has been one fine running machine. Pride of the grand kids (and me ).
