wwwa›Forum›DishwashersSep 15, 2010SOURCE: ge quiet power 3 dishwasher According to the GE repairman who visited, the solution is to close the machine (with the lights flashing). The machine starts and goes through the cycles, which it does rapidly and then all the lights turn off and the machine becomes silent after 1-1/2 to 2 Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US. Here's a link to this great service Good luck!remove the drain line and plug off the port on the sink that the dishwasher connected to, to plugit off black electrial tape wrapped arround the hole till it seals off will work0According to the GE repairman who visited, the solution is to close the machine (with the lights flashing). The machine starts and goes through the cycles, which it does rapidly and then all the lights turn off and the machine becomes silent after 1-1/2 to 2 minutes. Then the machine has been reset to normal. During this reseting period nothing happens inside the machine, although you may hear a running sound.
Thus, the solution is to run the machine in this flashing light state for the 1-2 minutes it takes to go raipdly through each cycle and then reset.
I hope this helps.0I have a GE Quietpower 3 dishwasher and let me tell you it is the worst dishwasher, hands down that I have ever owned. It is not quiet and it certainly does not have any power to clean anything. Or so i thought. After reading a few of the posts on this site it dawned on me to check the drainage. I took the whole drain assembly apart. Cleaned all of the gunk out of it. Then went for the drain hose. It was just about a clean as it was brand new. Then i reexamined the drain and found that it did not drain into the Garbage disposal like I am use too. Instead it had to make an immediate 30" climb into a PVC drain that sat just below the underside of the countertop. I rerouted the hose to dump into a bucket and ran the dishwasher. Guess what??? All clean and no residue. I am off to Lowes now to get the clamps and such to drain the dishwasher into the disposal. I still think this dishwasher is the worst I have ever owned and think GE should give that Six Sigma save a few pennies on one DW and the company can save hundred of thousands, at the expense of a customer spending hours on fix-it sites to find out the company cheapened the pump, a rest! However, for all of you that just want to fix your dishwasher, try draining it into the Disposal now before you blow your pump out.0Hello there again I think we got disconnected in the chat room so i will post the solutions here for you to check ok The water doesn't drain from the machine If the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher,
check these: Drain line/air gap A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is
one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the
problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage
disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear
any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the
hose before starting the dishwasher again. Pump Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is
usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of
the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but
first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray
arm support. Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan
blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which
forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is
the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash
impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port.
These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are
defective, you need to replace them. Drain valve and/or solenoid Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an
electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve
opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the
diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or
filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever.
Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With
these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's
energized, the drain valve diverts the water. Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of
the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve.
Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing. Belt If the motor isn't turning or working, the unit
won't drain. at all." If the motor hums but
doesn't turn, it may need to be replaced.0I have the same problem. If I turn the circuit breaker off (for 30 seconds) then turn it back on, the lights will light up, but the controls don't work. After several minutes, the lights go out again.0
