Jan 25, 2011Green sticky liquid is forming.. Green sticky liquid is forming on many of my wire connections in the attic of my older home in the Bahamas. This is copper wire, thus the green color but the liquid is oozing out from under wire nuts and dripping into the metal boxes. It can sometimes be seen on the outside of a wire, not at a connection point.

Return to the socket and remove the faceplate fixing screws. Pull the socket gently away from the back box, the cables should be connected into terminals on the rear of the face plate.
