HI LEG TRANSFORMER WIRING DIAGRAM
Understanding the Basics of Delta Transformer Calculations
Many call it a high-leg system because the voltage from Line 2 to ground is higher than that of the other legs. For example, a 120V delta transformer will have a 208V leg. This diagram is showing transformer balancing. For the sake of simplicity, overcurrent protection for these circuits isn’t shown.
I learned I have 3 phase "high leg" at my new location
Mar 29, 2014If the machine has a 240 volt control transformer then it will make no difference where the high leg is connected. If the machine has a 4 wire cord - 3 phases, neutral, and ground then it will make a difference in the connections because they are getting 120v control power, or lights from one of the phases to neutral, assuming it needs 120v.
The open delta three phase service – Engineering Radio
The open delta three phase service. Several months ago, I drove up to an FM transmitter site, looked up at the utility pole and saw this: Three Phase open delta transformer bank. Hook up a high leg to a single phase 120 volt piece of equipment and wait for the power supply to blow up. Also true with 277 volt lighting circuits, as my
