1955-1962 E.F. Johnson "Viking Valiant" AM/CW Transmitter
History. On Friday evening, November 2, 2007 I attended the annual RARA (Rochester Amateur Radio Association) auction to bid on this circa 1955-1962 E.F. Johnson "Viking Valiant" AM/CW transmitter. After making several must-have bids, I finally got it for $325, thus adding "AM mode" to the ham shack in a hefty (83 lbs.), retro style.
