RCD FUSE BOX REPLACEMENT
Fuse Box and Consumer Unit Replacement and Costs
A fuse box and a consumer unit serve the same purpose. They distribute electricity in your house through multiple circuits and instantly turn the power off whenever a power overload occurs on one of the circuits, which is commonly known as “tripping”. When “tripping” occurs, a consumer unit will switch the power off using the circuit breaker linked to the overloaded circuit.

A distribution board (also known as panelboard, breaker panel, electric panel, DB board or DB box) is a component of an electricity supply system that divides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits while providing a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit in a common enclosureally, a main switch, and in recent boards, one or more residual-current devices
Residual-current device - Wikipedia
A residual-current device (RCD), residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB) or ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) is an electrical safety device that quickly breaks an electrical circuit with leakage current to ground is to protect equipment and to reduce the risk of serious harm from an ongoing electric shock. 3 Phase RCD testing The MFT1700 series is designed to test RCDs on 3 phase installations. To test RCDs in a 3 phase system each RCD is tested as a single RCD, from Phase to earth. As described in section 8.1 to 8.5. Page 28 Connect the Green (L2) terminal of the MFT to the upstream phase of an RCD on a separate phase. Press the TEST button.
Fuse Boxes Explained | Electrical Safety First
Fuses (may be found in place of circuit breakers) – rewirable fuses have a piece of special fuse wire running between two screws. When a fault or overload current flows through the fuse wire, it will become hot and melt. The melted fuse breaks the circuit, disconnecting the faulty circuit and keeping you safe.
Installing a Consumer Unit - Consumer Units Explained | DIY Doctor
I: Neutral link cable from RCD to RCD neutral terminal block; Under the 17th edition regulations it is required that every socket is protected by an RCD. This can be done in 3 ways. A consumer unit can use an RCD as the main switch. This will protect all circuits but if the RCD trips, so do all circuits. A dual RCD consumer unit can be fitted.
